Dr. Simons attended medical school at Wayne State University and completed his training in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care at Cedars – Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. In addition to being board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases, he has been awarded the distinction of Fellowship in both of these disciplines, based on his national reputation, quality of care, teaching and publications. He continues to actively teach and is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine.
He has served as Chief of Staff at Cedars – Sinai Medical Center as well as Clinical Chief of the Department of Medicine and of the Pulmonary Division. He is passionate about the health of his patients, integrating both traditional and nontraditional approaches into medical care.
Dr. Simons is a proponent of healthy diet and exercise, and he practices what he preaches. He has trained world-class athletes and has served as medical director for the City of Los Angeles Marathon for 10 years, running in the race himself while supervising medical care.
