Internal Medicine
Dr. Simons has an active primary care Internal Medicine practice, in which he functions as the main physician directing an individual’s care. He is passionate about the health of his patients, integrating traditional and nontraditional approaches into his care. Over the years, he has become a “doctors doctor,” caring for many physicians and health care professionals. He is available both for routine health evaluations as well as for the assessment of specific medical problems.
Pulmonary Diseases
Consultations are provided for individuals with a variety of lung disorders and symptoms. Patients are often seen for the evaluation of symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough or chest pain. Dr. Simons is expert in the evaluation and treatment of asthma, emphysema, chronic obstructive lung disease, and in the evaluation and follow-up of abnormal x-ray findings.
Critical Care
Dr. Simons frequently consults on patients who are critically ill. He has a wealth of experience in this area and has been the Medical Director of the critical-care unit at Orthopedic Hospital, Chair of the Critical Care Committee at California Hospital, and he served as the Interim Medical Director of the Saperstein Critical Care Tower at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
Medical-Legal Expertise
Dr. Simons has over 25 years’ experience as an expert witness, representing both defense and plaintiffs. He is proud of the fact that his meticulous case evaluations often disclose critical information that was not appreciated prior to his review. Independent Medical Evaluations
Dr. Simons is highly experienced at conducting independent medical evaluations. He is expert in quantitating the degree of impairment resulting from a variety of exposures and injuries; his reports are exemplary. He approaches the patient in a warm, unbiased manner. Perhaps the best evidence of this is the number of claimants who, following such an evaluation, requested that he become their physician despite the fact that his conclusions were not in their favor.
